Bran the Blessed
Bran, son of Llyr and Penarddum, was a giant with supernatural strength associated with protection, divination, and service to country. He is considered the god of the waning year, and his name means raven. Much to the displeasure of his half-brother Efnissyen, Bran approved the marriage between his sister Branwen and the king of Ireland, Matholwch. Efnissyen expressed his displeasure by brutally mutilating Matholwch’s horses during the wedding festivities. Bran had to appease Matholwch from the insult by offering many various gifts. The gift that finally pleased him was the Cauldron of Rebirth, said to have the power to bring back the dead except for the ability of speech. Matholwch and Branwen traveled home to Ireland. After a year she bore him a son and named him Gwern. Matholwch was still furious about the insult from the wedding and blamed Branwen. He forced her to work as a servant. He kept word from getting to Bran by capturing all incoming ships and not sending any ships out. Branwen however, used a starling to get word to her brother. Soon after, Matholwch was informed that a forest had mysteriously materialized in the sea. Beside the forest was a mountain from which jutted a ridge flanked by two lakes. Completely baffled, he approached Branwen for advice. She explained it to him very simply. The forest was the British fleet there to save her. The mountain was actually Bran himself, the ridge was his nose, and the two lakes were his eyes. Alarmed by the impending danger Matholwch devised a treacherous plot to pacify Bran. He built the first house large enough to hold Bran and his entire army. From the pillars in the house he hung a sack containing an Irish warrior poised to attack. The slaughter was panned for the special banquet with the king’s guests as the targets. Bran was indeed impressed with the house, but Efnissyen was curious about the sacks. At being told they merely held flour, he investigated feeling a human head. Foiling Matholwch’s plot he squished the head of all one hundred men between his fingers. The banquet continued, and Efnissyen asked to caress Gwern. When the boy came forward, Efnissyen seized and threw him in the fire. The banquet quickly turned into a massive battle. After three days of bloody carnage, Bran was victorious, but at a massive cost. Ireland had five pregnant women left to repopulate, he had seven men remaining, and he was dying from a poisoned arrow to the foot. Efnissyen died in battle in the process of destroying the cauldron. Branwen died with grief after seeing the massacre over her. Bran ordered the seven remaining men to cut off his head and bury it in London. On the way they stopped in Gwales where there were three doors, and the third was supposed to remain closed or all of their misery and grief would return to them. Hey stayed there for eighty years in bliss, and the head spoke wisdom to them. At the end of eighty years one of the seven opened the door and they were all immediately filled with the misery they had been free from for so long. They hurried the head to London and buried it under the white mount where it is said to protect against foreign invasion.
Bran’s Believers
While in Gwales, Bran’s head spoke and all listened. Among the many listeners was the lady *Leahmra of the MythicalRealm of Asgard. Lady Leahmra had left her home, family, and people to join her husband, Sethiel on a journey through the lands. Returning to her people, Leahmra tried to share with MRA leaders Bran’s teachings and warnings. Many accepted her words as a way to reform from their hordeing ways, but some thought it was nonsense and refused to listen. Seeing that a unified decision could not be had, Leahmra met with a select few, who had heard her words and believed. The private meeting was held in an upstairs room of the Lion’s Pride Inn in Goldshire. In attendance were, Amlaruil, Annabellemra (now Annaleighh), *Blackangel, Azmodan, Camber, Orschlen, Nallakah, Leahmra, Seithel, Hambone Midnitemoon and *"name". It was decided that they should separate from the new ways of MRA. The new empire would be formed. This small group chose to be known as Bran’s Believers in honor of the man who had inspired such great change and Bran's Believers would stand for unity, loyalty, and protection. It would *be run like a family, the way it had been from the beginning. Leahmra changed her name to Leah to symbolize the great break and new beginning. Her daughter, Annabellemra, changed her name to Annaleighh to show her loyalty to her mother and to Bran's. *This small band of believers, choose to have Leah remain their Empress and Seithel to remain *their Emperor. From Goldshire , the guild moved to the nearby city of Stormwind to begin a new life, but not without continued strife with MRA. MRA would not accept the seperation of this brave band from the old ways and continued to seek and and convert them back. On such a raid, Sethiel was *captured and carried away. For a time Leah was heartbroken and it was believed that this heartbreak would eventually take Leah from them as well. Then one great day Leah emerged from the confines of her keep with a renewed sense of herself and her love for Sethiel. She called her officers together, and informed them she could no longer sit by and grieve his loss, she had to act; she was going after Sethiel. *Leah took with her , on this crusade , a small band of her most trusted family members and five personal *guards. Camber, as much as he would like to have traveled with Leah, realized that as Leah’s eldest * son and Sethiel’s eldest step-son, it was his duty to *stay behind and lead Brans ’ while his parents were gone. Finally the day came and Leah left on her journey takeing with her Amlaruil, Azmodan, *Blackangel, Hambone, and Nallakah. Those who remained with King Camber and Royal Princess *Annaleighh were Royal Princess Midnitemoon and Crown Princess Orschlin. To keep news and status *reports fairly current between the Empress Leah and her family, Princess Iynx braves traveling between the crusaders and Bran's Believers.
* Princess Iynx ’ last report was grave. The lands of MRA along with most of the Treslok family who *chose to remain with the Horde have vanished. Only a mysterious myst remains where the mighty * Horde guild stood. Empress Leah and her crusaders are still diligently searching for some clue as to what might have happened and Leah swears to find Emperor Sethiel.
Princess Iynx’s Latest
* Empress Leah has had no luck in finding out what happened to the Mythical Realm of Asgard or *her beloved Emperor Sethiel. Iynx reports that all are in good health and spirit. She is very pleased to hear of the growth and prosperity of the family. She sends her love, best wishes, and blessings to all. She also hopes that the believers will keep up the great work.
Three Years Have Passed It was a quiet day in the month of April, the sun shone unusually brightly and King Camber had to shield his eyes from the glare while he was taking care of Treslok family and guild business. He took a deep breath of fresh air from the open window and delighted in its sweet scent, wondering why this day seemed different from other April days in his memory and then he shrugged his shoulders and worked on in quiet solitude. At noon, Camber got up to stretch and decided that it was time to have the servants bring his noon-time meal to him in his office. Before he could summon them he heard the knock of a staff against the castle door. Not wishing to waste time, he went to the door himself and opened it only to find an old man in monk’s sackcloth standing on his threshold. “Can I be of service to thee Brother?” Camber innocently asked. “Some drink and food perhaps? A new steed?” The monk smiled. “Brother? The last time we spoke you called me ‘Mother.’” King Camber recognized his mother’s voice at once, but the sound of it, to say nothing about her appearance and her unexpected, but along desired return, sent the poor King into shock. Camber fell to his knees before his mother, took her hands in his, kissed them and cried. He was so relieved to see her alive! Leah kissed the top of her eldest son’s head as she had done so many times before. Leah told Camber to rise and requested a chair as she was exhausted from her journey. The King immediately got his mother a chair as she was so exhausted from her journey. He then rang for the servants to bring drink and food to the dining room and to set the table for three. He also asked them to ask the Queen to join him in the dining room as they had a “guest.” Leah smiled at the thought of her wonderful daughter-in-law who was really like a daughter to her. Camber urged his mother to tell her tale while they were waiting for lunch to be ready. Leah would not begin her tale until the three of them were together. TO BE CONTINUED…
